Slipstream Runner terms of service

Last updated November 4, 2026

The short version: These terms cover the Android and Wear OS versions; on iPhone, Apple’s license agreement applies. The app is provided “as is,” you use it at your own risk, and we assume no liability for its use. Its speed, distance, cadence, coaching and heart-rate figures are estimates, and it isn’t a medical device. Running has real risks, so train within your limits and stay aware of your surroundings. Slipstream Runner is free to use, and you can pay once for Pro through Google Play. This summary doesn’t replace the terms below.

These terms are an agreement between you and Mark Karas, publishing as Polymorphic Lightning (“we,” “us”), for the Slipstream Runner app on Android and Wear OS, from Google Play (“the app”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. If you have questions, email support@PolymorphicLightning.com.

iPhone and Apple App Store

These terms don’t apply to the iPhone version. If you got Slipstream Runner from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies instead, and Apple handles your purchase under its own terms.

Your license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial training, as allowed by Google Play’s rules. The app and its content, including its name, design, code and sounds, belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or reverse engineer the app, except where the law gives you that right.

Health and safety

  • You use the app and exercise entirely at your own risk. Running can cause injury or worse. Talk to a doctor before you start or increase training, especially if you are older, have a health condition or haven’t trained recently. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath, and get medical help if you need it.
  • Coaching cues aren’t instructions you must follow. Your targets are ones you set, and voice cues only compare your readings with them. Slow down or stop whenever your body or your surroundings call for it, whatever the app says.
  • Stay aware of your surroundings. Run only where it’s safe and allowed, and watch for traffic, people and obstacles. If you use headphones, keep the volume low enough to hear what’s around you.
  • Not medical advice or a medical device. The app, including its heart-rate readings, isn’t intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or monitor any medical condition. Don’t rely on it in an emergency or to make health decisions.

Accuracy of measurements

Speed, maximum speed, distance, cadence and heart rate, and the coaching cues based on them, are estimates. They depend on GPS signal, your surroundings, weather, your device and its sensors, and how you carry or wear it. Readings can be too high or too low, and results may differ between your phone, your watch and other apps. The app isn’t suitable for official timing, records or competition, or for any purpose where an error could cause harm or loss.

Free features and Pro

The app is free to download, with optional paid features called Pro. See the Free & Pro comparison. We may change or add features in either plan over time.

Pro purchase

  • One-time purchase. Pro is sold as a single purchase through Google Play, not a subscription. There are no renewals and nothing to cancel. Google Play charges you, in the price shown before you buy. We never see your payment details.
  • What it covers. Pro stays with your Google account for as long as we offer the app and Google Play supports the purchase. It doesn’t promise any particular future feature, or that the app will be available forever. To use it on a new device, sign in with the same Google account and use Restore Purchases.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Google Play under its own policies. We can’t issue them ourselves.
  • Your watch. Pro bought on your Google account also unlocks the Wear OS app when the watch uses that same account.

Your data

Your runs are saved on your own devices. Our privacy policy explains what the app uses and how it’s handled. Because we don’t hold a copy of your data, we can’t recover it for you if it’s lost, for example if you delete it, uninstall the app or lose a device. Please keep your own exports of anything important.

Other companies’ services

The app relies on services we don’t control, including GPS and other satellite systems, your device’s operating system, Google Play and Google Play services, Wear OS, and your device’s text-to-speech service. Their availability and accuracy are outside our control, and their own terms apply to your use of them.

Acceptable use

Please use the app only lawfully, and don’t interfere with it, try to bypass Pro or its purchase checks, or misuse any part of it.

Updates and availability

We may update, change or stop offering the app or any feature, and it may not work on every device or be available in every country. Some updates may be needed to keep using the app.

Ending these terms

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. If you seriously break these terms, your license ends. The sections on health and safety, accuracy, disclaimers and liability continue to apply after that.

Provided “as is”

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” and you use it at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will improve your performance.

No liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we assume no liability for the app or your use of it. This covers any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, any injury, illness, death or other loss arising from exercise or from relying on the app, its figures or its coaching, and any lost data or lost purchases, even if we were told such a loss was possible.

Some places don’t allow these exclusions. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived, or excludes liability that can’t legally be excluded.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the app after a change, the updated terms apply. If you don’t agree with them, stop using the app.
